道瓊社、韓國聯合通訊社(Yonhap)報導，全球前兩大電腦記憶體製造商三星電子(Samsung Electronics Co.)、SK hynix Co. 3日宣布，雙方已簽訂半導體專利互動授權協議，結束為期三年的冗長談判。不過，兩家公司並未揭露合約期限、權利金額等相關訊息。據傳，三星、SK hynix的合約涵蓋範圍頗為廣泛。

三星目前擁有102,995項半導體專利，SK hynix則擁有21,422項專利。道瓊社報導，SK Hynix一名發言人表示，這項協議涵蓋該公司所有的半導體專利(截至2013年第1季為止的總數超過21,400項)。

三星在2010年也曾與美光(Micron Technology Inc.)簽訂類似的專利互動授權協議，而SK hynix則早在2007年就與東芝(Toshiba Corp.)簽約。

根據科技市調機構iSuppli的統計，2013年第1季三星對全球77.7億美元半導體市場的佔有率為10.5%；在記憶體晶片市場的佔有率則為33.3%、銷售額達47.2億美元，居所有廠商之冠。

相較之下，SK hynix Q1的記憶體晶片市佔率則為17.4%、銷售額達24.7億美元；美光、東芝的市佔率則分別達14.4%、13.2%。
