每年暑假因學生放假，一直以來都是機車考照的旺季，不過由於今年七月一日起公路總局修訂汽機車駕照路考評分標準，七月份機車合格率較六月有下降趨勢；公路總局表示，最主要的原因就是機車考照民眾在路考轉彎時，都不習慣打方向燈。

許多年輕人都想趁著放暑假期間考機車駕照，但今年七月的合格率較六月低，以高雄市區監理所苓雅監理站來看，七月機車考照合格率較六月份低。

公路總局表示，主要原因是因為七月一日修訂汽機車駕照路考評分標準，將機車考照時轉彎未依規定顯示方向燈（得連續扣分）從扣八分提高至十六分、行車時雙腳懸空，未置放於腳踏板從不扣分改為扣八分等。如此一來路考時只要兩次轉彎未打方向燈就不合格，不再像以前整場考試都不打方向燈也會合格。公路總局提醒民眾，考試前可先上網了解詳細扣分項目與扣分標準。
