難民船澳外海沈沒 救起百餘人

（法新社雪梨20日電） 一艘載運尋求庇護難民的船隻今天在澳洲北方海域沈沒，在106人獲救後已停止搜救，已知仍有5人失蹤，據信凶多吉少。

澳洲海事安全局（AMSA）上午接獲受創船隻請求援助，當時船隻位置距離澳洲在印度洋的領土聖誕島（Christmas Island）120浬。

海事安全局發出警報後，一艘海軍船艦和一架海關和邊防機構飛機回應馳援，另有一艘商船也加入救援。

澳洲數週後將舉行選舉，尋求庇護的船民是個造成分裂的議題。救難人員救起106人，避免了一場重大慘劇，然而仍有5人失蹤，恐怕已死亡。

海事安全局發言人表示，海軍的「帕拉馬塔號」（HMAS Parramatta）抵達現場時，這艘船「船身仍保持直立，但有部份沒入水中，海裡還可看到一些人。」
