日本央行(BOJ)於17日發布新聞稿宣布，於當日舉行的政策委員會上決議，在2016年3月底前BOJ將不會出售過去自金融機構所買入的日本企業股票，該期限較原先訂下的日期(2014年3月底前)延後了2年，且出清股票的期限也自原先的2019年9月底延後至2021年9月底；截至2013年11月底為止，BOJ持有的企業股票餘額達1.36兆日圓。(附圖為日本央行大阪支店)

BOJ指出，因BOJ正在實行「量化/質化貨幣寬鬆政策」，故若BOJ出售股票恐對資本市場帶來不良影響，故決議延後出售持股。

據日經指出，為了解決不良債權問題，BOJ於2002年11月至2004年9月期間收購金融機構所持有的日企股票，以藉此支撐金融機構的營運，之後雖一度於2007年10月出售持股，惟因爆發雷曼風暴，故又再度停止出售持股，並於2009年2月-2010年4月再度自金融機構買入股票。
