當英國國王有什麼權力?

這是今天的新聞:

查爾斯王子等不到了？！根據美媒報導，英國女王伊麗莎白二世因健康狀況不佳，計劃將在一年內退位，但因查爾斯王子形象一直不佳，近日又爆出逃稅醜聞，讓伊麗莎白二世決定跳過查爾斯，直接傳位給孫子威廉王子。

可是我納悶的是:
英國國王是個好差事嗎?
查爾斯王子雖然完全沒個國王的樣, 但他會想當國王嗎?
英國國王除了參加慶典訪問民間之外還有什麼實質權力?
每周一次跟首相談話有意義嗎?

最好能夠舉一些二次大戰以來英國國王在國內或國際政治發揮作用的實例
