薇帕襲日18死39失蹤 搜救持續

（法新社日本大島17日電） 薇帕颱風奪走至少18條人命後，日本救難人員今天持續在爛泥及毀損建築物中搜救；不過土石流吞噬眾多房舍，連人帶房被沖走的數十人仍下落不明，生還希望日漸渺茫。

數百名員警、消防人員及軍人徹夜搜索土石流災區。

地方官員告訴法新社，位在東京南方120公里的伊豆大島至少17人死亡，39人仍下落不明。

警方表示，東京西部有1名婦女死亡。（譯者：中央社林亭儀）
